I managed to get away for a couple of days over the Bank Holiday weekend and headed over the border to Edinburgh - always a great destination for a short break. It turned into something of a Da Vinci Code trip when I literally stumbled across one of the locations for the movie - Rosslyn Chapel - which is just a few miles outside the city centre.
Like half the world I'd enjoyed Dan Brown's book and, ignoring the slating the movie has had from the critics, went to see it last week. I thought the screen adaptation was excellent, although I have warned other potential movie-goers that reading the book beforehand gives you a much better understanding of what Mr Hanks and his co-stars are getting up to.
But proof once again that you should never believe what you read in newspapers - well not the film critics anyway!
